Above all- it develops the ability to hear, think thru, interpret and sort thru necessary/unnecessary information and finally to convert it to brain signals that jot it down (or type it out, as I prefer). Jotting down notes during meetings and conversations, helps to train our brain to faster assess and evaluate asymmetric information packets, make meaningful sense out of them and then take relevant/apt action.
This is a very helpful skill to develop if you aspire to be a leader- within your team, organization or any greater group. We are surrounded by asymmetric information and the faster one is able to process, analyze and evaluate a scenario, a situation; that much more easily you will be able to evaluate the best course of action- a necessary trait for a leader and any person who aspires to create and re-create an improved, enhanced version of themself.
